United Airlines to send Humanitarian Aid to Ukrainian Refugees

United Airlines to send Humanitarian Aid to Ukrainian Refugees
The Issue
February 24th, approximately 0500hrs local time in Kyiv, Ukraine. This is a moment now cemented amongst other key events in history, that the world and our collective species will remember for generations. This is the moment that a foreign superpower invaded the sovereign nation of Ukraine and thrust Eastern Europe into war, and subsequently the largest-scale military conflict that Europe has seen since World War II.
Now, countless numbers of innocent families, mostly comprised of women and children, are flowing out of war-torn Ukraine in a desperate effort to avoid being bombed and caught in the middle of a fierce, bloody, and unwarranted invasion. The ensuing refugee crisis is both unprecedented and immeasurable, with UN estimates already predicting the displacement of over 4 million people within the first week of conflict. Sadly, complicated international relations and geopolitics are impairing humanitarian aid efforts to address this crisis, and international advocacy groups and private companies are being left as the only resource for these war refugees.
United Airlines has flown humanitarian missions in the past and was the leading airline during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are collecting signatures of all those who disagree with this conflict and sympathize with the Ukrainian people, in order to convince United Airlines leadership to act once again and lead the international aviation community in a time of global distress. Our primary goal is to coordinate with United Airlines and advocacy groups across the United States in order to organize humanitarian relocation flights for displaced families, so that they may seek safe haven in refugee-friendly ally-nations such as the United States.
