We must protect our children from sexual assault in childcare centres.!

 As the recent news of a former childcare worker being charged with 1,623 child abuse offences against 91 children the current laws and regulations in the childcare sector have failed us.

Please sign the petition for the following actions to take place to protect children from sexual assault in centres.

1. Review the Blue Card system to ensure it is effective in preventing child abuse and neglect.
2. Require childcare centres have a minimum number of staff members per child to ensure adequate supervision.
3. Increase penalties for those who commit abuse.
4. Conduct a review of the processes surrounding supervision in childcare centres. This review should include any exceptions to policies allowing a childcare worker to be alone with children and or the place for technology in this supervision model.
