Barilla uses clear, plastic windows on their pasta boxes to display the type of pasta in the box. This really isn't necessary because there is already a picture of the product on the box in addition to the name of the specific pasta. These plastic windows just create more waste that will never biodegrade. Plastic waste never goes away and creates problems for the environment, sealife, and the humans who come in contact with it. Additionally, the production of plastic is carbon intensive and contributes to global warming.
