Attention Petitioners!

The Town of Hempstead Town Board has scheduled a public hearing to consider the final redistricting map for the Town's councilmanic districts.  The hearing will take place this TUESDAY, February 7, 2023 at 10:30 AM in the Nathan L. H. Bennett Pavilion, Hempstead Town Hall, 1 Washington Street, Hempstead, NY. 

Unfortunately, the recently released map continues to split up the hamlet of Baldwin. As currently proposed, Baldwin will be split along Sunrise Highway, with the northern half in District 1, and the second half placed in District 4. Previously, most of Baldwin was in District 5. The Baldwin Civic Association continues to advocate for a map that places Baldwin wholly within one district.
