POWER COST ADJUSTMENT

 By its very name, one would assume that this charge would vary with the market price of the Natural Gas required to make that same electricity! To my surprise (NOT), this is not the case at all!

Upon reviewing my newly received October electric bill from the City of Lake Worth Beach Utilities, I found the same 90% PCA charge as the prior month (September) when the Utility claimed they were back charged for Natural Gas costing $14/mBTU (actually never went above $8.41/mBTU) even though the price of Natural Gas is currently $5.66/mBTU!

These questions demand answers – 

 Why doesn’t this PCA charge fluctuate lower with a lower price of Natural Gas with the same quickness it does with a higher price of Natural Gas??? Seems it only goes in one direction - UP!!

 Where does this excess money go????

 Why isn’t there a reserve fund to make up any shortfalls in additional Natural Gas prices????

 The Board of Commissioners needs to answer these questions and account for these discrepancies!!!! It is time to open the books to the Owners of the Utility – the Rate Payers!!!
