UPDATE & PEP TALK

We now have 1,022 signatures on the electronic version of the Petition, which isn’t too bad? BUT, I must admit – I am a quite disappointed to see that out of the 27,500 rate payers of the City of Lake Worth Beach Utilities, only a 1,000+ are dissatisfied and mad as hell over the recent excessive PSC charge to our electric bills.

I have worked hard the past two weeks to form a three pronged attack plan to battle this in-just and excessive increase. We have had good News coverage – News 12 has run the story twice and  are continuing to follow it! Jorge Milian, of the Palm Beach Post, wrote a good, fair, representative and favorable story about our cause! Yesterday – News 5, searched me out to cover the story. I will be talking with them today!

The formal consumer complaint to the Attorney General of the State of Florida has been mailed and will be delivered by the end of today. I am very confident they will proceed to investigate our complaint in a quick and thorough manner. I will keep you all informed, as I have about everything to this point.

This will lead me to the third pronged of this plan – the Petition – which is the weak link, right now!  The current signature count is only 4% of the total number of rate payers (27,500)! There has got to be more than 1,022 that are “Mad as hell and not gonna take it anymore” and will join the effort! You all have to help me – go out there and find these rate payers, convince them to get involved. Collective support, from as many as possible, will go a long way toward accomplishing our goal!   

This effort has gone sooo much further than it ever has before – and if we continue to be enthusiastic and vigilant in our efforts – along with this plan, I believe will be effective, we can actually create change and get what we need!
