The Issue

My personal journey with Spotify has been more than just a source of entertainment; it has been a solid platform that enhances my focus on work through its diverse collection of music. I firmly believe I am not alone in this; countless fellow individuals across different professions and workplaces have shared their testimonies regarding the impact of Spotify on their productivity levels. In 2017, a study conducted by Mind lab International revealed that 9 out of 10 workers produced more accurate work when listening to music (Fast Company, 2017). It's obvious that Spotify, one of the leading music streaming platforms with over 280 million active users (Spotify, 2021), plays a crucial role in this. However, despite its positive influence on productivity, Spotify has been blocked in certain regions and institutions. This is not only an injustice to me, but to numerous other hardworking individuals who utilize Spotify as a tool to maximize their output. Blocking Spotify translates to blocking engaged, focused and productive work. Control over what we listen to should lie with us, not be determined by barriers out of our control. I urge you to support this petition to unblock Spotify; your signature could enable undistributed and efficient work for millions. Please sign and share this petition. Show your support for the unblocking of Spotify and the productivity it inspires!
