I am a student in the Frisco Independent School District (FISD), and like many of my peers, I find that music helps me focus better on my studies. Unfortunately, FISD has blocked access to Spotify, one of the most popular music streaming platforms. This has hindered our ability to listen to music while studying or working on assignments.

Research supports our experience - according to a study published by Stanford University, listening to music can positively impact brain engagement during studying. Furthermore, a survey conducted by Mindlab International revealed that nine out of ten workers perform better when listening to music.

We understand the need for internet safety and appropriate content within school grounds. However, we believe there are ways for FISD to ensure these standards without completely blocking access to beneficial resources like Spotify.

We urge FISD officials reconsider their decision and find a balanced solution that allows students access while maintaining necessary safeguards. Please sign this petition if you support unblocking Spotify in Frisco ISD schools.
