Unban Nicotine Vaping in Australia - Freedom of choice

Unban Nicotine Vaping in Australia - Freedom of choice
The issue
Hi all,
As most people are aware, today (January 1st 2024) marks the beginning of the disposable single use vape ban and on March 1st, the next step is to ban all refillable vapes. Both nicotine and non nicotine vapes in a bid to stamp out addictions for the younger generation of Australia and also denying the adults of Australia to exercise their right to have freedom of choice.
I started smoking when I was 11 as my father got me started. I enjoyed it, but over the 35 years of smoking, my breathing, taste, sense of smell started declining as well as other physical conditions.
I quit smoking when i started vaping and found it very easy compared to all the other nicotine replacement treatments
Personally, I think that compared to smoking, vaping is way less harmful than smoking.
Cigarettes contain the following
Acetone—found in nail polish remover
Acetic acid—an ingredient in hair dye
Ammonia—a common household cleaner
Arsenic—used in rat poison
Benzene—found in rubber cement and gasoline
Butane—used in lighter fluid
Cadmium—active component in battery acid
Carbon monoxide—released in car exhaust fumes
Formaldehyde—embalming fluid
Hexamine—found in barbecue lighter fluid
Lead—used in batteries
Naphthalene—an ingredient in mothballs
Methanol—a main component in rocket fuel
Nicotine—used as an insecticide
Tar—material for paving roads
Toluene—used to manufacture paint
Not only that, but when all the ingredients above are burnt in a cigarette, you are beathing is smoke. Toxic smoke.
Vape juice contains propylene glycol (PG) or vegetable glycerin (VG) and food grade flavouring and nicotine if desired
It doesnt take a rocket scientist to know that cigarettes are far more harmful than vaping just from the list above.
Nicotine itself is addictive, but harmless.
This new law that is being passed has overlooked so many things that if a rational mind was to see it all, they wouldn't think of banning vaping.
For example: Alcohol is legal. It is extremely addictive and causes more harm than vaping. Not only to the liver, the heart, the ability to think straight, causes arguements or phsyical violence between others.
Im not saying that everyone who drinks alcohol experiences all of the above, but it does happen.
Sugar is another addictive substance and is in almost all of our foods and drinks. It contributes to a lot of physical conditions including heart disease, diabetes, tooth decay and obesity.
We all have addictions and the freedom of choice to have those addictions. However, this new vape ban fails to see that the addictions mentioned above are far more harmful to humans than vaping, yet you don't see alcohol, sugar cigarettes or any other thing that we are addicted to.
Alcohol, cigarettes and sugar and other dangerous substances are accessible to teens, yet you won't see those things being banned. So why vapes specifically?
I don't believe that cigarettes, alcohol or sugar should be banned as it is the natural born right of all humans to have the freedom of choice as to what they consume and not upto a goverment body to control that freedom of choice.
If anything, why is the goverment not stamping down of the vendors that sell the vape products when they sell to underage customers?
Or why are the parents not doing anything about their teens vaping?
I think that teens vaping should not interfere with the adults that vape. Me personally, I enjoy it and I know that a lot of others do as well. We that vape don't harm any others in the process. not only that, it is a lot cleaner as opposed to cigarette butts being left all over the place.
And it smells better
Please sign my petition and share if you would like and help me reverse the impending ban
Thank you in advance
