UN Intervention in Ghana's Cocoa Planations

The Issue

Children as young as 10 in Ghana are working long hours in planations, with little to no pay to show for it. Many have left education and some never started it. Companies such as Cadburys benefit directly from this. This Child Labour allows them to maximize profit and minimize the cost of producing their chocolate.

The United Nations, the proclaimed guardians of Human Rights, should act upon this. International sanctions, such as a ban on importing Cocoa from Ghana should be levied. The United Nations should condemn Ghana, and intervene in the situation.
