In one week (Wed 20th October) Amendment 60 of the Environment Bill will be voted on in the House of Commons. If it passes, UK water companies will be legally obliged to improve their performance every year, bringing an eventual end to sewage pollution.

The amendment was supported in the House of Lords, despite nearly every Conservative peer voting against it. This is likely to be a far greater issue in the Commons, however, where the Tories have a sizeable majority.

You've been amazing supporting our petition and e-mailing House of Lords peers when we asked you to, now we need one final favour.

If we stand a chance of convincing MPs to support this amendment, we need every one of you to e-mail your local MP, asking them to "support Amendment 60 of the Environment bill on Wednesday 20th October".

You can do this by e-mailing them directly or by using the following link and entering your postcode: https://www.writetothem.com/?a=westminstermp

Every single e-mail will help us so please take 5 minutes to do this and convince as many of your friends and family as you can to do the same. This is especially important in Conservative constituencies.

If you receive a reply from your MP stating that they are not going to support this amendment, please let us know at info@soswhitstable.com

Thank you all again,

Ed Acteson
