As we await news on when our Amendment will be debated in the House of Commons, we've decided it's time to show the government and water companies in person just how angry we are at the continued pollution of our seas and rivers.
On Saturday 9th October we are marching from Tankerton to the Swalecliffe sewage plant in Kent to protest against Southern Water and sewage pollution in general.
We have arranged for a series of guest speakers, incuding the former Green Party leader, Natalie Bennett, CEO of Surfers Against Sewage, Hugo Tagholm, author of the Whitstable Pearl mysteries (book and TV Series), Julie Wassmer plus songs from folk singer and environmental campaigner Beans on Toast with more TBC.
If you'd like to confirm your attendance or want more information, check out our Facebook event.
Is Whitstable a little too far for you? Multiple protests will be taking place across the southeast on the same day to highlight the strength of feeling about this cause. For more information on the whereabouts of your nearest protest contact us via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or via e-mail at info@soswhitstable.com
Hopefully see you there!
