This petition is to prevent a 5G mast from being built on Forefield Lane. The mast will be situated outside of Forefield infants, nursery, and junior schools. the mast will have blanketed close coverage over the infants and reception playgrounds and other play grounds. Young children will be exposed to radiation for significant periods. Will this have the potential to reach into class rooms and homes? 

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has confirmed that radiofrequency electromagnetic fields can be carcinogenic to humans (Group 2B). Wireless phone use has been linked to an increased risk for brain cancer.

Forefield lane can be extremely busy with young children walking to and from school, a mast on the pavement could seriously increase the risk of a child stepping onto the road to avoid other pedestrians. Many children will be accompanied by adults who have prams and other young children. Forefield lane/Brownmoor lane is a busy area, many children from neighboring high schools will be exposed to the radiation coming from the mast. Many countries have banned Wi-Fi in schools!

This mast does not fit into the current surroundings. It will be taller than the rest of the buildings and will be a complete eyesore. It will not compliment this area at all.
