I have just had a very useful meeting with the MP for Bristol West, Thangam Debbonaire, in whose constituency 15 Small Street lies. Thangam is fully supportive of the campaign, and intends to speak to parliamentary colleagues to build cross party support. Heritage organisations have been working for some time to draft new legislation based on the failed 2008 bill, and with governmental support it could be possible to pass the necessary legislation quite quickly. A vocal show of public concern really does matter now. Please write to or email your own MP to urge them to back the proposals, and ask them to make their views known to the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for DCMS, John Glen MP.
