Amazon's business model is based on selling cheaply made products that they can levy a substantial margin on to offer super convenient next day delivery.

We all use Amazon because we need these goods as soon as possible. But we all know that the price of convenience is quality and where the products are coming from.

Top Amazon search results are filled with Chinese made products that are poorly made and semi disposable. These products are bad for the environment, labour standards are minimal and European wages are suppressed because properly made, crafted and durable products are rendered uncompetitive. 

Amnesty International has revealed that China's Government is responsible for a genocide of Muslims and racial minorities. Disposable products from China are polluting the planet. A lack of transparency on the part of the Chinese Government was a key factor in the spread of Coronavirus at a critical juncture in early 2020. Consumers who are concerned by these issues are not able to reduce consumption of Chinese made products because Amazon does not have to list the country of manufacture on its product pages.

Chinese companies on Amazon increasingly now list their products under European sounding brand names as a deliberate attempt to associate the product with European safety and labour standards.

It is time that consumers knew where their products on Amazon were made.
