Dear supporters,

First of all we would like to say a BIG thank you to wonderful artist and rabbit person Martin Kingdom, who created some amazing art in support of our campaign (see above). We approached Martin after seeing the Prufrock Bunny he designed, we particularly love his b&w drawings, take a look at his website to see more of his work: martinkingdom.com.

Just before Christmas we had a meeting with Chris and Lorraine Platt, founders of CAWF, the Conservative Animal Welfare Foundation. Lorraine, who is former Vice Chairmain of the League Against Cruel Sports, has won many animal welfare awards and campaigns against hare coursing and fox hunting as well as being a talented artist herself. She and Chris were very generous with their time and gave us very helpful advice about progressing our campaign. CAWF's work focuses on banning live exports and ending the use of cages in hen and pig farms.

On Lorraine's advice we have written to DEFRA again regarding the proposed rabbit welfare code of practice and we will let you know as soon as we receive a response.

As you may remember, we were planning to relaunch A Hutch Is Not A Home on the Government's own website in the Spring. But realistically, because of Brexit many MPs have not had time to meet us so we have decided to wait. In the meantime we need your support more than ever - please keep spreading the word about our petition on social media, ask your family, friends, colleagues and anyone who loves animals to sign!

Thank you and best wishes for a Peaceful, Healthy and Happy New Year to you and your animal friends, from everyone at Cottontails.
