Millie's Law.
The Issue
This petition is to reduce the speed limit on residential country roads to 30miles/hour. The same speed limit as within a tiny village through to a huge city.
Right now the speed limit on country lanes such as the one I live on is that of the national speed limit 60 miles/hour! This small, one lane, restricted access road is merely a mile in length with 10 homes along it . This is a community so why doesn’t the 30 miles/ hour speed limit apply? Does the government think that people living on these kind of roads do not matter!
People and animals are killed on these roads just like any road BUT just like other roads lowering the speed limit would reduce deaths.
Millie my sweet little cat was killed because of the national speed limit but Millie’s Law could be your child’s Law, your loved ones Law, your best friends Law , your parents Law !
Please help to reduce unnecessary deaths. Thank you.
