Dear Supporter
Thanks to over 7000 of you who have signed our petition and for the other actions you have taken.
We know that people are experiencing difficulties with accessing computer rooms in detention centres with a knock on impact in accessing legal advice and representation.
If you or someone you know is booked onto the flight to Zimbabwe and you don't have legal representation, please get in touch with BARAC UK or any of the other 8 organisations that started this petition as we can connect you with legal representatives.
We have been contacted by even more organisations giving their support to this petition for which we are grateful.
These include:
ZAPU (Zimbabwe African People's Union)
MDC-A (Movement for Democratic Change Alliance)
ACTSA (Action for Southern Africa), the successor organisation to the Anti-Apartheid Movement.
Artists' Union England
Please do continue to forward any responses from your MP to Barac.info@gmail.com.
Our MP template letter can be accessed here:
Here are some more actions you can take:
Contact Mitie and BALPA and ask them to stop helping the Home Office deport people.
Please use the hashtags #stoptheplane #Zimbabwe150 #ZimbabweanLivesMatter
Mitie provides the security guards who accompany people being deported on charter flights. People are chuffed to two security guards on deportation flights. Jimmy Mubenga was killed on a flight while being deported in 2010 by G4S security guards.
