A few weeks ago, some of my fellow young campaigners spent a weekend capturing content for our new film, which asks the Prime Minister to extend free school meals to 800,000 children in need. But they also sat down as a group and discussed their shared experience with free school meals. Watch their compelling discussion and share their experiences with your friends and family today.

They discussed the current inequalities some students face in accessing healthy and nutritious food, and how the soaring cost of living affects the lives of the children most in need. My friend Harrison made one of the most powerful statements “At the end of the day, a child needs to eat.” 

I think you and I can both agree that he’s right. Too many kids are missing out, with an estimated 2.6 million children living in households that missed meals or struggled to access healthy food during April 2022.
