An immediate 10% Pay increase for NHS Nurses and Frontline staff

An immediate 10% Pay increase for NHS Nurses and Frontline staff
The Issue
"Save one life, and you're a hero. Save a hundred lives, and you're a nurse." - Author unknown.
I woke up this morning - to a cold, wet, and windy South London and peered out my lounge window. Through the rain-soaked glass, an ambulance drove by, its' lights beaming blue, on its' way to one of the countless emergencies it will respond to today.
It made me think that whilst I am, together with millions of other residents across the UK - sitting snug in our homes, shielded against the torrent of rain and wind, thousands of NHS nurses and frontline staff are enduring the elements and COVID to help complete strangers in profound distress.
With COVID's 2nd wave wreaking havoc, battering an already overstretched NHS service to breaking point, we must consider the immense pressure Nurses and frontline staff are under.
It's a very well documented fact that NHS Nurses are overworked and considerably underpaid. And whilst an occasional 'Clap for our NHS Workers' may cut it for some of us and may provide a morale booster for a few Health workers, it simply does nothing in actual terms to improve the lives of those who help us on a daily basis.
Over the last couple of years, there have been some tiny pay increases for Nurses - but falls well short. In fact, in real terms - they are worse off now than they were 10 years ago.
This article provides detailed information on real-term pay
I'm hoping that you will join me in supporting an immediate pay rise of 10% to all NHS Nurses and Frontline Staff.
Matt Hancock and the rest of the Government can bumble their way through any deluge of excuses, and shower us with a host of massaged facts & figures.
After all that is said and with nothing done, reality can not be cheated.
Helping people is one of the noblest callings a person can answer. It is our duty to protect those who serve and protect us. And to also protect the profession for those who wish to join it in the future.
Please sign and share this petition to put pressure on this Government to act now.
Thank you!
