The UK Chancellor of the Exchequer announced a VAT cut to 5% for food and accommodation - which has given a massive tax break to huge chains like McDonalds and Wetherspoons, but no support for thousands of community local pubs that don't serve food.

Now that it's been announced that the Government can extend VAT to beer and all on-sales,  The Campaign for Pubs, the national grassroots campaign to promote, support and protect pubs, is calling on the Chancellor, Rishi Sunak’s to show support for thousands of local community pubs by cutting VAT to 5% for 12 months, for all pubs (and for all sales).

A cut to 5% VAT for all pubs would help thousands of community pubs, most of which have significantly reduced trade.
