NASP Update - They U-Turn this time !

Well after the general hilarity expressed throughout the DVSA and most of the rest of the industry over NASPs request for ADIs to sign off theory tests, our sources tell us they're suddenly trying to rewrite the narrative in a U-turn worth of the DVSA itself. 

Apparently:

"Would it not be possible for government to enlist the help of DVSA Approved Driving Instructors to ensure pupils have a good theoretical knowledge and sign off before allowing a candidate to take the practical test"

Didn't in anyway mean they wanted ADIs to sign off pupil's theory test knowledge at all. We've just all misread it! Silly us!

Apparently ADIs were just supposed to sign off pupils who had already passed a theory test and were going to a practical test, which is no way whatsoever the same as ADIs signing off on theory knowledge. 

With correspondence at this level, it's no wonder the DVSA don't take any notice of NASP.

Next time they "consult" with the DVSA perhaps someone should confiscate their crayons instead?
