UFC fighter Edmen Shahbazyan used alleged Karabakh flag during mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship that took place on August 1st, 2020, while the organization has a policy to only allow athletes to use the flags of internationally recognized states.
Karabakh was occupied by armenian armed forces in early 1990s. Dozens of thousands civil people were killed barbarously while sleeping, soldiers were killed and 1 million people became IDP (Internally Displaced Person). UN accepted it as an occupation and demanded armenian army immediately leave the occupied lands, they haven't yet.
