The Issue

When Star Wars Outlaws launched, it came with high expectations. The idea of an open-world Star Wars game was a dream for many fans. But the release was rough. Technical issues and performance problems at launch led to low reviews and frustration. Many players gave up before seeing the improvements that came later. The early problems left a bad first impression, and unfortunately, that is what stuck.

Ubisoft’s leadership has since placed blame on the state of the Star Wars brand as a whole. However, fans know the real issue was not franchise fatigue. It was the launch experience itself. And that is something we have seen turn around before.

Look at games like No Man’s Sky and Cyberpunk 2077. Both had rocky beginnings. Both were heavily criticized. But what made them success stories was the commitment from developers to listen to the community and improve the game over time. Now those titles have strong, loyal fan bases. The same is true for games like Helldivers 2, which continue to thrive because the developers stayed connected with the player community and adjusted the experience based on feedback.

Star Wars Outlaws has that same potential.

Since release, patches have addressed many major complaints. The DLCs, added more content and depth. Many players who stuck with the game now praise it for what it has become. A fan base has grown around it, a group that wants more. There is real interest in a sequel. And yet, reports say the sequel has already been canceled in early development.

We believe that is a mistake.

This petition is a call to Ubisoft and the developers at Massive Entertainment to reconsider. We are asking for:

  1. A renewed evaluation of the sequel to Star Wars Outlaws based on current community interest and game improvements
  2. Open engagement with fans to gauge support and hear feedback directly
  3. A clear signal that Ubisoft is willing to listen and rebuild trust with players who believe in the future of this game

Star Wars is one of the most beloved franchises in the world. There is a massive audience ready to support a well-crafted game that respects that legacy and listens to its players.

We do not expect perfection. We understand the realities of game development. But we also know what is possible when developers stay committed and fans are given a chance to be heard. There is still time to make Star Wars Outlaws the beginning of something great … not the end.

If you played Outlaws and believe in its potential, sign below. Share your voice. Let Ubisoft know that there is still a galaxy of fans waiting for more.
