We are dedicated players, customers who have invested time and money in the Ubisoft universe. But when our accounts are compromised, Ubisoft abandons us with an account recovery system that is, frankly, absurd, leaving us at the mercy of hackers.

My own experience is a clear example of this critical flaw:

Months ago, my Ubisoft account was hacked. An intruder changed both the password and the associated email address, completely locking me out of my own profile, my purchased games, and my progress. Naturally, I contacted Ubisoft Support seeking help.

Here's where Ubisoft's "security" becomes a mockery:

The only method of ownership verification they offered me (and offer to other victims) is to send a confirmation email to the new email address that the hacker linked to my account.

Think about the incoherence! The legitimate owner (me) is expected to gain access to an email account controlled by the hacker themselves in order to recover my Ubisoft account. This is not a security process; it's an insurmountable barrier that benefits only the attacker. It's as if Ubisoft expects me to "hack the hacker" just to regain access to my digital property.

Ubisoft already has the tools to prevent this:

The irony is that Ubisoft already has systems in place to notify users via email about new IP logins or account changes. They possess the data that clearly shows my account was compromised. Why don't they use this information (along with my original purchase receipts, original email address, or linkage to other platforms) to verify my identity?

The impact is devastating:

• Legitimate users lose their purchased games, expansions, and years of progress.
• Trust in a major gaming company is eroded.
• There's no real path to recovery, leaving victims completely helpless.

We demand that Ubisoft urgently review and replace this defective verification method. We need an account recovery system that genuinely protects legitimate users from hacker activities, rather than locking us out further.
