There has been so much happening ... many updates to share! There are now ELEVEN states and two major cities (NYC and Chicago) taking on the Tampon Tax, as well as college campuses across the country fighting to make tampons and pads freely accessible in restrooms. There is NO DOUBT that we have ignited a national movement! And across the pond, the Tampon Tax is now a relic of the past in the U.K., with the elimination of the Value Added Tax on menstrual products (their petition has picked up 300,000 signatures!!). Our petition has achieved exactly what we set out to do: raise national awareness and compel states to act. And they have!! But we may face an uphill battle in getting from introduction of legislation to passage. And there are another 29 states to go. Can we get to 100,000 signatures this weekend? That would make headlines! And would pressure more states to make progress on the issue. Please let's get this petition back to the top of our Twitter feeds! Post it on your FB page! If everyone who has signed gets just one person to join in, we'd be at over 100,000 signatures! Thank you for being part of this amazing movement and making your voice heard. Let's end the unfair tax on our periods!
