"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America"

I start this, with the most remember-able phrase to each and every American. "We the People" "Promote the general Welfare". The essence of domestic tranquility. 

Yet, the year is 2022. Since 1974 our elderly and disabled peers and battles. Have been given a cap upon income that We the People give. After reading through the laws and regulations of requirements for SSI, along with conditions that must be maintained to keep SSI.

I find it egregious that we can place a cap on funds that a(n) individual can possess within a bank account.

I have read sums of $2,000 to be the max that one person can have in a bank account for them to be deem eligible to continue.

Yet the average monthly cost of living surpasses that alone, are We the People, promoting the general Welfare. To our peers and battles that have come before and after. That they may not accumulate more than one month of expenses for they are deemed ineligible. 

We are fighting for working pay wages to increase to a national minimum of $15/hr.  Which brings the before tax monthly income to $2,400. Yet, the SSI payment is $683 in some regions.

Do we not believe that those on SSI deserve a minimum amount of assistance that correlates to the national level as-well. That they should be able to obtain income without the risk of being halted.
