Yellow Roses are symbolic of belief in women's equality. Suffragettes wore yellow roses to show their support for women's suffrage. Now, students and others are bringing back the yellow rose to show support for women's Constitutional equality (AKA the Equal Rights Amendment). Last weekend, sixty-one girls, grades 5 through 9, from towns in CT, NY, NJ and MA gathered in Guilford, Connecticut at the 5th Annual Girls Leadership Conference to empower each other, encourage each other, to learn from each other and to team together to learn more leadership and organizing skills. The Yellow Roses were honored to be the Keynote speakers at the conference organized by the Shoreside Girls United. Strong girls pass it on.
