Our petition to Advance the Rights of Widows is gaining momentum! Today we hit 5,000 signatures today, which is an incredible start and an indication of the grassroots energy behind our empowering initiative.
With 67K views and 701 shares, you are moving mountains to create real change for widows to be heard and served. We continue to reach out to the change makers for this initiative.
GREAT UPDATES:
#1 - Last week, we presented our Revolutionizing Widowhood Impact Report to hundreds of supporters who registered for our presentation. You are welcome to read our 10 Year Impact Report and watch our presentation which charts an exciting future course for Modern Widows Club, outlining our history, our successes, and presenting a vision for national and international growth. Learn the issues facing widows and how we can work together on solutions. It takes ALL OF US!
#2 - New Website: If you didn't notice, Modern Widows Club has a NEW WEBSITE that is now translated in 39 languages (many I never knew existed :). Why 39 languages you ask??? Because there are 39 countries with more than #OneMillionWidows in the world according to the Global Widows Report. If we are to reach every widow, they need to be able to reach out to us in their native language. Coming soon, a Spanish speaking community, because Mexico is our newest community outreach.
#3- Save The Date: June 23 International Widows Day is coming up. A day of raising awareness for widows worldwide. It's a special day we'll be sharing stories, stats and challenges of widows everywhere. Be sure to share your story and hashtag #OneMillionWidows. At MWC, our ladies will be creating #OneMillionWidows signs, taking a photo and sending to us at support@modernwidowsclub.org. We plan to create one powerful video with the REAL FACES of MWC & GLOBAL FUND FOR WIDOWS.
#4- Upcoming Event: 2021 Widow Empowerment Event | September 17-19, Houston, Texas registration is almost ready and we can't wait to see all our beautiful wisters together LIVE. If you haven't completed our Widow Empowerment Quiz to know if you are in the HOPE, HEAL, GROW or LEAD stage of widowhood, go on over and find your answer. This is a great tool we designed for our widows. At this weekend event, we've created special breakout sessions via 3 tracks: 1- HOPE/ HEAL, 2- GROW/ LEAD and 3- Fatherless Daughters (over 18) this year!!! For the first time ever, Mother's and daughters will be joining us and both becoming empowered with support!!! We hope you will join us.
