Nursing homes go back two hundred years in America and so does neglect and abuse. No one is exposing nursing home abuse, they are just finding out about it. There have been studies from the start of when they were first called "nursing homes" in the 1950s that say "these facilities are operating at below standards of care" and "neglect and abuse is happening". This is 75 years ago, and the reports kept coming for the entire 75 years that are up to date and they all say the same thing. Legislators refuse to enact laws to add more protection and making sure proper care is being given. Contact your legislator and tell them to pass laws for long term care reform. Tell them to pass the law for cameras in all long term care facilities in every state.
