One of the cool things about petitions is it can connect individuals with the same interests and goals. Through this petition, I've recently learned of an organization that shares this petition's goal of making accessible parking just that - accessible. This organization, Parking Mobility, has developed an app (yep, "there's an app for that") for recording violations concerning accessible parking and easily reporting them to your local government and the Department of Justice board that oversees the ADA rules and regulations concerning accessible parking. Since these reports further prove the need for changes to the existing legislation, I encourage people to download the app. I have only just learned of it today, but it apparently allow the user to take pictures of the violations they see through the app so that they are automatically submitted to the organization, who then submits them to the board governing the rules and regulations regarding accessible parking in the ADA. Another benefit is that the app can be used to report other types of accessible parking violations besides blocking the access aisles of van accessible parking spaces. This petition has reached almost 1,400 people so far and it's growth has skyrocketed over the last couple of days. However, this cause can use all the help it can get, so I encourage you to become a member of Parking Mobility by registering on their website (https://www.parkingmobility.com/), liking their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ParkingMobility/), and downloading the app, of course. And of course, keep sharing. :) We're on a roll and I know if we continue to spread the word, we can put an end to this needless frustration.
