The House failed to vote on the renewal of the Emmett Till Act before the election recess. There is a question whether they will vote on the law during the lame duck session or whether they will weaken the bill with changes. ANY change will require sending it back to the Senate, which approved the renewal of the Act in July. Familes like the ones from the Atlanta Five Fishermen murdered in Pensacola Florida in 1974 may be excluded from the law if changes are made to the Senate bill.
