Three men busted for dog fighting and they were not even put in jail nor did they have to pay bail. Don't know how this can happened when they were all in this together. Items to train dogs to fight were found in their houses. They were told to make sure they come back for court dates. One of the three men is a convicted felon who has a history for not showing up to court dates. Does this make sense? NO! There was a fourth man involved and in his home they even found a dead puppy in his freezer. He was arrested October 10 and faces additional charges of drug sales and weapons possession for possessing two loaded guns, four kilograms of heroin, and three kilograms of fentanyl. Rivera, 55, is held on $500,000 bail. “What began as an identity theft investigation led to arrests, the seizure of narcotics and firearms and the rescue of 29 dogs suffering abuse.” There have been many cases where if there was other charges against a person and animal cruelty, they drop the charge for animal cruelty and just charged them for the other charges. Not saying that is what is going to happen here but it does which is not fair to the animals neither. If they do the crime they should pay for all the crimes they do. Getting back to the other three who did not have bail etc. makes this case look even more that is the way this case is going to be. Twenty nine dogs suffered abuse. What about them and their rights and their justice. There is none. We have come a long way starting next year animal cruelty will be a felon charge. Some states have got rid of the kill shelters and now they are a no kill. Let's not stop now. We want full force thrown to animal abusers so they will think twice about abusing them.
