I need help in sharing this, as we need so many more supporters. This is a problem that I see a lot of times. Our law does not look into these situations. Ok the police wants to take the ladies word for it, the dog was not hers. How easy it would be to find out if the dog was hers or not. What about neighbors, did anyone bother to ask? I am sorry, if you can abuse a living animal, I feel you can abuse a little human too. In cases like this, the police should look into these situations more than they do. They should be able to ask for names of family and or friends to check it out to see if the dog was hers or not. They said the dog had very long and unworn nails, which indicates she has been immobile for a while. She was in critical condition. To see this dog laying there and what the vets are saying, I would like to know if that dog could had ended up there from afar? I don't think so. Why couldn't the officers taken an interest and asked neighbors if any of them had ever seen this dog before, or knew who it belong too, anything to find the abuser. Even if the owner did not abuse this dog, someone did and the way I see it the owners would had to have neglected this dog. Make it a law to look into these situations to give these animals justice. These officers who do not look into these situations are guilty too. Nothing against the employees at these shelters doing their job, but too many animals are being abused and/or killed and it has to be stopped.
