This mother was schedule to be killed. She was only 2 or 3 years old and pregnant, so she has not had enough time to even live part of her life before she was put on death row. Just in time she was saved. They knew she was with pups but didn't know how many she would have. After delivering her pups, she had 18 total. This person who saved her, ending up saving 19 dogs in all. When these kill shelters kill, they do not care the age, the sex, pregnant or not. or size. In some states it does matter of the breed as they have laws about pit bulls. So pit bulls and any other breed mixed with them, would have a least chance of being saved until the next killing session. Also black dogs no matter breed will be killed first as people think black dogs are evil. I don't know where that came from, but I can tell you that is not true. This really upsets me that so many animals are being killed in kill shelters. These animals have not done any thing wrong. They end up there only because they have been abused or neglected. Like it is not bad enough that they have been thrown out like trash, but then they are put on death row. Yes Death Row. The owners or abusers mostly walk free. Nothing against the employees who do their job, but there are too many animals being abused and/or killed and it has to be stopped. This happens to more animals than just dogs.
