THEY ARE CLOSED WEDNESDAYS FOR KILLING,,, IF YOU ARE MISSING YOUR DOG,,,, CALL THEM NOW !!! TODAY !!! 706-236-4545 I volunteer for a southern kill shelter and I AM TIRED of trying to reason where there is NONE. My problem is that there are animals that are brought in and NEVER photographed !!! NEVER given the chance to have their owners find them !!! NEVER given the chance to get rescued !!! WHY ?,,,, because Floyd County Animal control plays,,, JUDGE - JURY - AND EXECUTIONER when a dog comes in it is NOT their policy to photograph them all and give them a chance !! NOOOOO,,,,, if a dog comes in and is scared out of it's mind and too terrified to be handled or even look at people,,,,, it is taken to the "back room" to see if it "comes around". IF that dog "comes around" to THEIR satisfaction,,,,, THEN it can get it's picture taken. IF NOT,,,, then they just kill it !!!! HOW MANY DOGS HAVE HAD OWNERS LOOK FOR THEM ?? WE WILL NEVER KNOW !!! people that come to the shelter,,, NOT see their dog because it's HIDDEN IN A BACK ROOM,,,,, they can NOT find their dog on adopt a pet,,,, because the dog WAS NOT ALLOWED to have it's picture taken !!!! AND THAT'S NOT THE ONLY TYPE OF CASE !! There was a mother and newborn babies back there for 2 WEEKS that NO ONE knew about !!! It wasn't until ALL OF HER BABIES WERE DEAD,,, all except 2,,,, that FINALLY the shelter decided,, "We better put their picture up and tell rescue about them". WHAT WAS THE REASON FOR THAT ??!!! NONE !!!! I have BEGGED THEM to do the right thing !! My words fall on DEAF - UNCARING EARS !!! THEY WILL NOT CHANGE !!! The most recent (that I know of ),,,, was Hershey,,,,, HIDDEN in the back for A MONTH !! Remember on my post I put RIP Hershey? This dog was picked up as a stray,,, and was FINE with other dogs !!! But his owner could NOT FIND HIM if he came looking,,, could NOT FIND him on the internet for that first month !! When we found out about Hershey,,,, he was given a little over 1 WEEK,,,, and then they KILLED HIM !! THERE WAS SPACE AT THE SHELTER AND THEY KILLED HIM ANYWAY !! WE NEED JUSTICE FOR HERSHEY AND ALL THE OTHERS LIKE HIM !!! PLEASE,,, let your voices be heard to the officials of Rome, GA !!! The shelter director is Jason Broome,,,,,, I don't know who his bosses are,,,, but this has to stop. Maybe if others join in and cry for REASON AND THE RIGHT THING TO DO ,,,,, maybe,,,, JUST MAYBE,,,,, the masses can get Floyd County Animal Control to do the right thing !!! HERSHEY DID NOT DESERVE WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM !!! they killed this darling precious dog,, and there are MORE in there RIGHT NOW that haven't had their pictures taken and are possibly going to be killed now !! PLEASE BEG THE OFFICIALS OF ROME, GA to do the RIGHT THING at Floyd County Animal Control !!! THIS COULD HAVE BEEN YOUR DOG !!!! Our Govt needs to look into situations like this and take care of them ASAP! P.S. This will be sent to the House of Reps
