Article outlining the Student Loan Forgiveness for Frontline Health Workers Act

This bill, if signed into law, would forgive ALL loans for frontline workers, including technicians, nursing aids, and researchers.

THIS IS AMAZING NEWS!

Other recent proposals are more modest, with forgiveness of $10,000 or $30,000 per borrower. But this bill goes all the way.

Our team has been in contact with Rep. Maloney, and she has been a great advocate for healthcare workers in this pandemic!

There is no reliable data yet, but as of 3 weeks ago, over 9,000 healthcare workers were confirmed to have been infected with COVID19, at at least 27 dead. These are just the cases we know of. 

Pictured here are two residents in New York City, with a combined debt of over $700,000. They are working day and night to save lives threatened by COVID19. Just two of the heroes we are fighting for, to thank them for their work and for risking their own safety.

Most US Hospitals are not offering hazard pay, and many have frozen or cut compensation for these workers. Most of the healthcare workers on the frontlines now went to to school for many years, and accrued hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt - they are now being called on to work extra shifts, with sicker patients, for less pay. I saw a recent post on social media suggesting healthcare workers "should have gone to a less expensive school." Unfortunately, no medical training program is inexpensive.
