Dear Supporters,
It is unlawful for a city to hire a third-party vendor to install auxiliary vehicle flashing lights such as those that are blinding us on police cars, fire trucks, and utility vehicles. Therefore, I have submitted a formal request to the NHTSA Office of Vehicle Safety Compliance, requesting an investigation into the city of Woodland, CA and the company Lehr Automotive.

The reason that it is unlawful for a third-party vendor to install auxiliary vehicle flashing lights is because NHTSA has a "steady-burning" requirement for any auxiliary vehicle lamp. NHTSA does not enforce this rule directly, but does enforce compliance by third-party vendors.
