Dear Supporters,

Today I met via video conference with US Representative Mike Thompson of California (Democrat) about Headlightgate.  Mr. Thompson is my Representative in Congress.  Mr. Thompson informed me that he has been contacted by Representative Judy Chu (Democrat) and Jan Schakowsky (Democrat) about Headlighgate.  Rep. Thompson informed me that he would need Republicans to join in this effort before anything can happen in Congress.

In my opinion, with Republicans in total control of the House, Senate, and Presidency, it seems unlikely that they would join Rep. Mike Thompson, a Democrat, in this matter, and that Republicans would be more likely want to initiate the Headlightgate investigation on their own, without Democrats.

In either case, we are at the position now where the only way to move forward in Congress on the issue of blinding LED headlights is for one of our supporters who is represented by a Republican in the House of Representatives to get the Representative to take the lead on this issue.

Therefore, I am requesting your assistance in this matter.  If you are represented by a Democrat, get them to agree to contact Rep. Mike Thompson about Headlightgate.  If you are represented by a Republican, either have them contact Rep. Mike Thompson, or have them agree to take the lead on this effort.   Please keep me informed.
