Dear Supporters, 

On February 24, 2024, the Soft Lights Foundation submitted a regulatory petition to NHTSA to set a maximum upper limit on vehicle headlamp intensity.  By statute, NHTSA was required to have made a decision on the petition within 120 days.  It is now double that amount of time, and NHTSA has not yet made a decision.  Today, the Soft Lights Foundation sent a letter requesting a justification from NHTSA as to why it has not made a decision.  (https://www.softlights.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Headlight-Intensity-Failure-to-Decide.pdf)
