Dear Supporters,
NHTSA has embarked on a misinformation campaign to have you believe that Adaptive Driving Beam is the solution to blinding LED headlights. Don’t let NHTSA con you.
In the NHTSA marketing image posted here, you can read the text which says, “Automatic high beams help save lives.” and “There’s a High-Tech fix for high beams.” We must recognize what NHTSA is doing here is misinforming the public.
The reason for this petition is blinding low beam headlights. While LED high beams are extraordinarily hazardous, the majority of the problem is excessively bright and blue LED low beams. So why is NHTSA spending our tax dollars marketing a fix for high beams but not offering a fix for LED low beams?
Please contact your Representative in Congress. Demand that NHTSA approve the Soft Lights Foundation citizen petition to set an overall limit on low beam headlight intensity and a 2800K limit on blue wavelength light. Tell your Representative that you don’t want NHTSA wasting your tax dollars on misinformation marketing campaigns.
