Dear Supporters,

Today the Soft Lights Foundation submitted a formal petition to NHTSA requesting that NHTSA issue an order of non-compliance to Ford for failing to request authorization to use LED headlights.  In our petition, we lay out our case, explaining in detail why LED headlights do not meet federal safety standards and why vehicles with LED headlights are dangerous.  You may read the petition here: http://www.softlights.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/NHTSA-Ford-Bronco-Petition-1.pdf

We now expect NHTSA's army of lawyers to look for ways to reject our petition, but it is also possible that they may accept the petition.  Either way, this is now the beginning of a new chapter in our fight.  We are continuing to work to involve the US House Oversight Committee on this topic and the failure of government to provide safety regulations for any LED products.

We will keep you posted as we receive feedback from government officials.

Sincerely,
Mark Baker
President
Soft Lights Foundation
