Although the U.S. ended some military weapon aid to Turkey, The United States and Turkey share membership in NATO, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), and continue to cooperate in important military projects. The Turkish government abuses its military aid from the U.S. and uses them to create humanitarian crisis’ in the Middle East. 
The U.S. recognition of the Armenian Genocide should have helped aid the prevention of Turkey creating more humanitarian crisis’, but Turkey continues to harm places like Syria, Iraq, harming the Kurds and Assyrians of the Middle East, as well as fueling Anti-Armenian sentiment in it’s own country and other ME countries like Lebanon with a large Armenian diaspora. It needs to be stopped and this will help reach it a step closer to doing so.
