Grant my mom humanitarian parole to see my dying father

The Issue

On August 21, 2018, U.S. Customs and Border Protection denied my mom, Gloria Arellano Montoya, a humanitarian petition to cross the U.S.-Mexico border into Arizona to say her last goodbye to my father and her husband, Arsenio De La Rosa, who is 85-years-old, hospitalized, and only has a few weeks to live.

U.S. immigration law has already torn my family's lives apart. In 2009, my mom was denied a green card and barred from re-entering the U.S. for ten years. My dad, three siblings, and I are all U.S. citizens. My oldest brother, Jim, served in the U.S. Marines Corps but after my dad suffered a stroke in 2011, was honorably discharged to become my dad's fulltime caregiver.

My father is dying. The very least the U.S. government can do is allow her to see him one last time, and to allow him to see his wife during the final moments he has. Please sign this petition and ask the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to grant my mom temporary humanitarian parole.
