Give refugee status to those who escaped from the genocide in Tigray, Ethiopia.

The Issue

There is a civil war in Tigray, Ethiopia.

Thousands of civilians are thought to have been killed, and millions more have been displaced. The raping of women has been widespread. War and the alleged deliberate blocking of food deliveries have driven 350,000 people to the brink of starvation.

The conflict has already ruined many lives. It may still lead to the balkanisation of Africa’s second-most-populous country and the destabilising of an already fragile region.

Traumatised Tigrayans are renouncing their Ethiopian identities. With no resolution to the conflict in sight and a growing humanitarian catastrophe.

This petition will be submitted to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to grant asylum status for those who escaped from the genocide in Tigray and are currently residing in the U.S.
