Your action is important:

1. to ensure that Turkish Cypriots are not excluded, isolated and discriminated against by the British government by deliberately stopping the Royal Couple from visiting North Cyprus.

2. to ensure the Turkish Cypriots are greeted with the same courtesy and dignity as the other peoples of the world. Why can’t the Royal Couple visit North Cyprus if the British High Commissioner, UK politicians and ordinary British people can?

3. to ensure that the 371 British servicemen who were murdered by the Greek Cypriot EOKA terror group are not forgotten. Why can’t the Royal Couple visit the Girne (Kyrenia) Cemetery where they are commemorated and pay their respects? Is this how our fallen soldiers should be treated?

4. to elucidate for the Greek Cypriots that before assuming that they own the entire island, perhaps they need to first address the existence of the Cyprus Problem as well as the political, economic, social, cultural demands of the Turkish Cypriots

———— WHY SHOULD I SIGN? ————

Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, were poised to visit Cyprus from Wednesday 18 March until Saturday 21 March, but this was cancelled due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall were already scheduled to meet Greek Cypriot leader Nicos Anastasiades at the presidential palace, as well as take trips to Limassol and Troodos, both in the Greek Cypriot administered area, and the buffer zone.

Efforts by the Turkish Cypriot authorities to invite the royal couple to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) were not immediately accepted.

When the royals re-arrange their visit to Cyprus, a possible meeting between the royals and Turkish Cypriot leaders in the TRNC would be a likelier outcome if we the people support it.

We must be ready to extend our invitations, and also remind our leadership of the promises Prince Charles made direct to Dr. Sibel Siber, the former Prime Minister of the TRNC, whom he met at the centenary commemoration of the Battle of Gallipoli in 2015, and as also featured in the press in 2015, that if he is invited, he will visit both parties’ sides to the island.

It would also be good to see something in their programme about laying a wreath at the memorial in Girne (Kyrenia) in the TRNC, in memory of the almost 400 British servicemen killed by EOKA terrorists in the 1950s, but who have hitherto been neglected to become forgotten soldiers.

If Prince Charles could visit both the North and the South of the island he could better understand the realities.

And remember: if you don’t ask, you don’t get!

Prens Charles ve eşi Camilla, 18 Mart Çarşamba ile 21 Mart Cumartesi arasında Kıbrıs'ı ziyaret edecekler.

Güney Kıbrıs Rum Yönetim’deki başkanlık sarayında Kıbrıs Rum lider Nicos Anastasiades ile buluşacaklar ve Rum yönetimdeki Limasol ve Troodos bölgeleri ve tampon bölgede geziler planlıyorlar.

Kıbrıs Türk makamlarının kraliyet çiftini Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti'ne (KKTC) davet etme çabaları derhal kabul edilmeyebilir.

KKTC'deki kraliyetliler ve Kıbrıslı Türk liderler arasındaki olası bir toplantı, eğer halk destekliyorsa, belki bir sonuç olacaktır.
