Last month, Tyson customer McDonald’s finally announced a trial of a plant-based Beyond Meat burger in select Canadian locations. This progress comes after mounting pressure on McDonald’s to catch up with competitors, including hundreds of your comments! So of course we had to try it out. Watch today as COK volunteer Kevin heads to an Ontario McDonald’s to give the P.L.T. a taste! His verdict? So good that he ordered another to go!
The new McDonald’s burger, called the P.L.T. (plant, lettuce, and tomato), is only available for 12 weeks in 28 restaurants in Southwestern Ontario. Meanwhile, as US chains like Burger King, Dunkin’, Hardee’s, and Subway start rolling out vegan meats, we’re left wondering: When McDonald’s US start shifting away from factory farming cruelty & dish out a vegan option?
The good news: You can help us put compassionate vegan burgers in front of hundreds of millions of McDonald’s US customers, making kinder eating more accessible to Americans than ever before. Reach out to us at outreach@cok.net to organize a demonstration or veggie burger giveaway in your own community, and we’ll help you every step of the way, from recruiting volunteers to getting the materials! And you’ll be featured in our newsletter and social media channels too!
Thank you for helping COK make animal-friendly eating business as usual!
