Twitter currently allow self-confessed paedophiles to hold accounts wherein they can publicly discuss their attractions and list their preferred age of child.

Their child protection policy was silently changed last year to permit these accounts to exist.

They claim to be "virtuous" or non-offending paedophiles but Twitter has no way to verify this or to ensure that they are not simply using the lax safeguarding as a front to locate other paedophiles.

Twitter's minimum user age is 13 years old and, by allowing paedophiles to publicly discuss their desires, they are failing to safeguard these young users.

There is currently no law in place to prevent this. Police have been contacted and informed me that they can do nothing.

If people experiencing paedophilic attraction want a place to discuss this, they should have one. It should not be on a public forum where they are surrounded by young people.

As an ex mental health worker with 15 years experience, I have encountered both victims & perpetrators of Child Sexual Abuse. I know the damage that can be done by authorities turning a blind eye.
