JK Rowling has continued to use her platform to encourage a hate agenda toward the Transgender community. Recently, Rowling  used her platform to pose and endorse merchandise from a company selling items decorated with transphobic slurs like “Fuck Your Pronouns”. 

Tweeting directly to 14.2 Million people, Rowling has the platform to cause a lot of damage and create a dangerous and toxic environment for members of the transgender community. Rowling has been sharing toxic messages for years unchallenged by Twitter or Facebook, whilst not to long ago a celebrity sharing hate speech was removed in 48hours. Social media’s slow response on challenging or removing Rowling’s platform sends a poor message about the importance of Transgender lives. 

Freedom of speech is not freedom of consequence. Support the human rights of transgender people and say NO to transphobia today.
