Hello neighbors, friends, and advocates! In this update, I would first like to express my humble gratitude for your interest and support toward this petition. I will try to keep this update short and to the point. I have been emailing consistently with Alex Wilson's office, attempting to get a short written statement from him regarding who he has presented the petition to and when since as far back as November 2024. In late June of 2025 I secured a meeting with Alex to ask him the same. He has promised he has been showing the petition to concerned parties but agreed the signers of the petition deserved to hear from him. (In particular since he encouraged me to write this petition previous to and durring his running.) He promised me he would give me a short statement or at least the information to be presented to petition signers by July 25 2025, a month from the date of the meeting. When the date passed without correspondence I gave some extra time before starting to email the office again to remind him of his promise. However unfortunate, the various emails I have sent to Alex Wilson over the past months have yet to garner a response or explanation from Alex, though his office employees have assured me they reminded him of his promise to you. Because of this, as a last resort, I reach out again to my community. If you are interested in hearing from him on the matter of how the petition is being presented I ask you to please email and call Alex Wilson's office on behalf of this petition, asking him to update signers on his actions. You will find in this update below, for your convenience, a suggested email, which you can copy and paste to be edited as necessary. All emails to Alex Wilson should be sent to ward13@hamilton.ca
Dear Alex Wilson,
It is my understanding that you have promised a short update on your actions regarding the Turtle Tunnels for Cootes petition, including how and who it has been presented to so we know our concerns are being heard and acted on. The writor of the petition expresses this information was agreed to be made available to them during a meeting in late June 2025, to present to petition signers in way of data or a short statement. The mutually agreed upon deadline July 25 2025, now sorely passed, was when this information and or statement was promised by. (A month after the meeting the writor had with Alex Wilson). As a signer of this petition I am interested in receiving this promised update, so I can know from him how my concerns have been addressed by him. I hope Alex will not break his promise further by continuing to leave signers waiting.
